Hello! I'm Rowan Foggitt, the founder and head coach of SportStrong and 5060.fit

​

i'm a 54 year old Strength & Conditioning coach, Personal Trainer and Fitness & Gym Instructor with many years' experience of working with athletes of all ages and abilities, and from a wide variety of sports, focusing on athletic performance and strength training.

 

SportStrong training plans, delivered remotely or in-person, have helped numerous clients improve performance and reduce injury-risk. Our programmes include a variety of best-practice plans across a number of sports, all specifically designed to make you a stronger athlete. The benefits of strength training are numerous and varied but ultimately a stronger athlete performs better, simple.

 

We trust the process of progressive strength training to produce an athlete that is more economical, faster and more powerful than that same athlete that neglects this key element of training. We follow exercises, concepts and training plans successfully used by elite athletes and their coaches, adapting where required for the individual.

SportStrong uses technology to deliver strength training plans via world-leading specialist software, Truecoach: best-in-class strength training running on best-in-class software.

​

A key focus, especially with competitive amateurs, has been to address the relative lack of an appropriate, progressive strength training plan tailored for the individual. SportStrong enables strength training to be accessible, whether the athlete is a beginner or an experienced elite, has zero equipment or a fully equipped gym. 

​

Personally, sporting injuries and subsequent surgery on multiple joints (knee, ankle, shoulder) has frequently made exercise a challenge. Through diligent rehab, progressive strength training and a personalised exercise programme, I am able to continue training and participate in demanding sport.

​

I’m a member of CIMSPA, the chartered, professional development body for the UK’s sport & physical activity sector. It ratifies my qualification, requires that I undertake CPD and holds me to professional standards.

​

I still train a small number of clients 1-1 from my studio gym in SE London and am currently also having great fun as an Echelon UK cycling and strength training instructor

 

With a long competitive sporting history, I lift weights, run, race bikes competitively at Masters level and am trying - when time permits - to master the butterfly
