Train like a Pro!

IN-SEASON S&C PLAN:

​

This is a gym-based plan, programmed by Tim and Rowan, S&C head coach at SportStrong. The primary aim of the plan is to maintain in-season conditioning and mobility while adding incremental power and strength via resistance training. The plan includes:

​

  • Standard lifts and derivatives for rate of force development

  • Ballistic movements such as loaded jumps; effective for force development at various velocities

  • Unloaded jumps and plyometrics to improve dynamic qualities

 

The intensity is adapted for you via making the weights appropriate to your level of strength. The plan is progressive with reps, sets or weight increasing every 2 weeks unless otherwise agreed by you and your assigned SportStrong S&C coach. 

​

Proficiency at safely lifting weights, including compound multi-joint movements (eg deadlifts), in the gym is a pre-requisite.

​

Clients are provided with world-class training software, including a commmunication channel with their coach.

​

There are 2 x gym-based routines and 1 x bodyweight/core strength/mobility routines in this plan per week.

​

Clients decide which days of the week to perform the routines, or if to skip them entirely, based around matchplay, fatigue and recovery, and any injuries.

​

Equipment required: Barbell and dumbbell free weights. Access to slam balls, cable resistance machines and plyo jump boxes is preferred though alternative exercises will be set if needed.
